 June 11

by themillionairedrive

It’s not every day you see a Rolex, a Tesla, and a “Muhammad Ali picture” all show up in a fraud case filing—but here we are.

Holton Buggs, a top promoter of the now-collapsing Traders Domain Ponzi scheme, is officially surrendering a laundry list of luxury assets as part of an asset settlement agreement with a court-appointed Receiver.

After being sanctioned earlier this year for dodging cooperation, Buggs appears to be playing ball—at least on paper.

Let’s break down what happened, what he gave up, and what it all means for one of the biggest crypto Ponzi schemes we’ve seen in a while.

Buggs’ Surrender: A Breakdown of the Assets

According to a June 2nd court filing, Holton Buggs agreed to hand over an eclectic and expensive collection of assets. Here’s what’s now in the Receiver’s hands:

  • 🏡 Three vacant lots in Houston’s Fifth Ward

  • 🏠 One residential property in Houston

  • 🏘️ Two Tampa, Florida properties

  • 💵 $9,500 in cold, hard cash

  • ⚖️ $125,000 paid to a law firm as a retainer

  • 🚗 A lien on a Tesla Model X (based on current market value)

  • 🛥️ A 2010 SeaDoo 230 Wake watercraft

  • 🏍️ A 2009 Can-Am Spyder GS motorcycle

  • ⌚ A Rolex and Breitling watch (stored in safes)

  • 💎 A diamond necklace, earrings, and Audemars watch gifted to his wife

  • 🔫 A Glock 9mm pistol kept in a Houston safe

  • 🖼️ And yes… a framed “Muhammad Ali picture”

All these items will remain under Receiver control as the CFTC’s case against The Traders Domain unfolds.

Can He Still Live There? (Surprisingly, Yes)

Even with all that being surrendered, Buggs has been allowed to stay in the Houston home—pending a full property inspection.

He also gets to keep using the Tesla for now.

And over in Tampa, his mother and other family members have been given permission to stay in those two properties. There’s a catch, though: Buggs has to continue paying the mortgages, utilities, insurance, and maintenance from “New Income”—a term we imagine the Receiver is watching very closely.

A $1 Million Lien and a Legal To-Do List

Beyond the personal items and real estate, the settlement also includes:

  • 🏦 A $1 million lien on another residential property in Houston

  • 📝 A commitment from Buggs to fully cooperate with the court-appointed Receiver

  • 📊 A full financial accounting of his activities tied to The Traders Domain

  • 💬 Availability for a deposition if needed

This means Buggs is now legally required to open up the books. No more hiding behind shell companies or crypto smoke screens.

Also worth mentioning: another law firm will keep $340,029 Buggs prepaid to continue funding his defense. That’s either excellent planning—or guilty conscience budgeting.

The $125 Million Question: Will Victims Get Their Money Back?

Buggs isn’t just a mid-level promoter. He’s one of the key architects behind the marketing machine that helped The Traders Domain pull in over $125 million from unsuspecting investors.

Whether or not victims see a meaningful recovery remains to be seen.

But the court’s effort to claw back assets is a promising step—especially when compared to other crypto scams where the money simply “disappears” into the blockchain ether or vanishes with a one-way flight to Dubai.

Speaking of Dubai…

In related developments:

  • Juan Herman, another Traders Domain defendant, is reportedly on the run—and has likely fled to Dubai. His Florida property is now facing foreclosure by a third party.

  • The Receiver also filed renewed sanction motions against Alex Santiesteban and Archie Rice, with a court hearing scheduled for June 11th.

So yes, the legal fallout is just getting started.

Final Thoughts: Justice—But Make It Luxury

Buggs giving up watches, watercraft, and waterfront properties might seem like justice… until you realize it’s only a sliver of what was stolen. Still, it’s a signal that the law is catching up to crypto fraudsters who believed they could outsmart the system.

And if you’ve been following the Traders Domain saga, this is just the beginning of what’s shaping up to be a full-blown reckoning.
